My Prototype Of The Sovereign Grace Framework
I use for the backdrop of my teaching ministry something called the Framework of Sovereign Grace. It is a diagram designed to illustrate the masterplan of God for the ages. This diagram emerged around ten years ago while expounding the ninth chapter of Paul's letter to the Romans. Initially, it served as an aid to my own understanding of sovereign grace and the biblical covenants. However, it wasn't long before I incorporated it into my teaching ministry. Visual aids have always been an essential tool for my learning, and while not everyone may be a fan, I am encouraged by men such as William Perkins and John Bunyan, both of whom illustrated their framework of teachings with a diagram. I began the series with a general overview of the structure and framework of the book. The letter may be divided into four main sections: Sandwiched between an introduction (1:1-17) and a conclusion (15:14-16:27), there are two central questions the Apostle answers. First, why are sinners under the condemnation of God? This is answered in (1:18-3:18), with Paul explaining how the human race comes into the world under the authority of the covenant of works, and therefore made subject to the law inscribed upon their hearts, which was a blessing to Adam and Eve before the Fall, but is now a curse to all transgressors. The time period covered by the book is around 120 years, from 1015 BC to 900 BC. There are 22 chapters, and it takes approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes to read in a single sitting. It is uncertain who it was that wrote the book, but it is traditionally believed Jeremiah was the author. If so, this means Jeremiah was responsible not only for the prophetic book which bears his name, and for the book of Lamentations, but also for this historic book of 1 Kings.
