During the last fifteen years I have had, occasionally, close acquaintance with the deceased brother; and ever found him a wise, faithful, and tender-hearted friend; but his afflictions—mental and physical—were severe. I always thought him a broken-hearted man—a man of many sorrows—shutting himself almost out from all society: he leaned and lived upon his Lord alone.
